Claude Code v2.1.252: Fixes for Bash on Some Macs, Always Allow, and Remote Control Stalls

Claude Code v2.1.252 is a four-item bug-fix release covering Bash on some Macs, always allow in projects without local settings, Remote Control stalls, and oversized background task notifications.

Claude Code v2.1.252 is a small bug-fix release with four changelog entries and no new features. It fixes Bash commands failing on some Macs, “always allow” decisions not being saved, Remote Control stalls in sessions hosted by Claude Desktop or VS Code, and background task notifications that could make a conversation too large for the API.

What’s New

This version adds no new commands, flags, or settings. All four changelog entries are bug fixes, summarized below.

Fixes and Improvements

  • Bash on macOS: Bash commands no longer fail with “task output swap refused (tasks dir moved or linked)” on some Macs.
  • Permissions: “Always allow” now saves in a project that doesn’t have a .claude/settings.local.json file yet.
  • Remote Control: Remote Control sessions hosted by Claude Desktop or VS Code no longer stall for minutes after a tool finishes when the connection to claude.ai is degraded.
  • Background tasks: Background task notifications with very large failure output (for example, git errors on a full disk) no longer make the conversation exceed the API request size limit.
