Claude Code v2.1.147: /simplify Becomes /code-review, Pinned Background Sessions, and a Run of Windows Fixes
Claude Code v2.1.147 renames /simplify to /code-review with an effort level and --comment for inline PR comments, keeps pinned background sessions alive, enforces enterprise login restrictions against API-key sessions, and fixes eight Windows and PowerShell issues.
Claude Code v2.1.147 has 33 changelog entries, 26 of them fixes. One is a command rename that removes behaviour, and one closes an enterprise login gap.
Changed Behaviour Worth Knowing
/simplify is now /code-review. It reports correctness bugs at a chosen effort level, such as /code-review high, and --comment posts findings as inline GitHub PR comments. The old cleanup-and-fix behaviour has been removed, so a workflow that relied on /simplify editing code needs revisiting.
Pinned background sessions — Ctrl+T in claude agents — now stay alive when idle, are restarted in place to apply Claude Code updates, and are shed under memory pressure only after non-pinned sessions.
Enterprise and Permissions
- Enterprise login restrictions were not enforced against third-party-provider and API-key sessions. The
forceLoginOrgUUIDandforceLoginMethodmanaged settings now apply to them. - Backgrounded sessions re-prompted for tool permissions already granted with “don’t ask again”.
- Auto mode suppressed
AskUserQuestionwhen the user or a skill explicitly relied on it; the classifier now treats the user’s answers as an intent signal.
Windows and PowerShell
Eight entries land here:
- Hook
ifconditions likePowerShell(git push*)never matched — onlyPowerShell(*)worked. - The PowerShell tool dropped output for commands relying on the default formatter, and failed with exit code 1 when
pwshwas installed through winget or the Microsoft Store. - “Yes, and don’t ask again” for a PowerShell script invocation now writes a rule that actually matches next time.
- Removing a background-job worktree no longer follows NTFS junctions into the main repository.
- Full-screen strobing in attached background sessions on Windows Terminal while Claude streams.
- Stale and doubled rows in the agent view list when background session results contain wide CJK characters, and a rare hang waiting for scroll to settle.
Smaller Fixes
& in ! command output displayed as &, which broke copy-pasting URLs from commands like gcloud auth login on headless machines. Unknown slash commands silently did nothing in headless and SDK mode, and slash commands followed by a tab or newline were treated as unknown. /help rendered a broken tab header on small terminals outside fullscreen. Shell snapshots dropped user functions whose names start with a single underscore. Plugin agents declaring multiple Agent(...) types in tools: frontmatter kept only the last. /effort opened with the slider on the wrong level. Paginating MCP servers dropped resources, templates, and prompts past page 1. /background refused sessions whose only typed input was a skill or custom slash command. /theme dialogs did not respond to Esc. An uncaught exception at the end of streaming sessions through the Agent SDK. Pasted text reached agents as an unreadable [Pasted text #N] placeholder. Plugin component counts were doubled when a manifest listed paths overlapping its default directories. CLAUDE_CODE_SUBAGENT_MODEL did not apply to teammate processes spawned by agent teams. GNOME Terminal right-click and middle-click paste did not insert text. Stripped images prompted the model to re-read media that was no longer present. And several spacing and layout glitches in the /plugin, /status, /mobile, /sandbox, and /permissions menus.
On the improvement side: the auto-updater retries transient network failures and reports specific error categories and OS error codes; diff rendering is faster for large file edits; and prompt history no longer records consecutive duplicates.
