Claude Code v2.1.122: Bedrock Service Tiers, PR URLs in /resume, and a Run of Vertex and Bedrock Fixes

Claude Code v2.1.122 adds ANTHROPIC_BEDROCK_SERVICE_TIER, lets /resume find a session by pasting its PR URL, and fixes structured-output and effort errors on Vertex AI and Bedrock inference profile ARNs.

Claude Code v2.1.122 has 18 changelog entries, 11 of them fixes. Most of the weight falls on Vertex AI and Bedrock.

What’s New

  • ANTHROPIC_BEDROCK_SERVICE_TIER selects a Bedrock service tier — default, flex, or priority — sent as the X-Amzn-Bedrock-Service-Tier header.
  • Paste a PR URL into the /resume search box and it finds the session that created that pull request. GitHub, GitHub Enterprise, GitLab, and Bitbucket are supported.

Vertex AI and Bedrock

  • invalid_request_error: output_config: Extra inputs are not permitted on session-title generation and other structured-output queries.
  • The Vertex AI count_tokens endpoint returned 400 errors for users behind proxy gateways.
  • /model did not show the Effort option for Bedrock application inference profile ARNs, and those ARNs did not receive output_config.effort.

MCP and Tools

  • /mcp surfaces hidden connectors. A claude.ai connector shadowed by a manually added server with the same URL is now shown, with a hint to remove the duplicate. The message shown when a server is still unauthorized after the browser sign-in flow was also clarified.
  • ToolSearch missed MCP tools that connected after session start in nonblocking mode.

Telemetry

  • OpenTelemetry numeric attributes on api_request and api_error log events are emitted as numbers rather than strings.
  • A claude_code.at_mention log event was added for @-mention resolution.

Smaller Fixes

/branch produced forks that failed with “tool_use ids were found without tool_result blocks” when the source session contained entries from rewound timelines. !exit and !quit in bash mode terminated the CLI instead of running as shell commands. Images sent to newer models were resized to 2576px per side instead of the correct 2000px maximum. Remote Control idle status redrew twice per second, which could flood tmux -CC control pipes and pause the terminal. Assistant messages appeared blank in some sessions because of a stale view preference. A malformed hooks entry in settings.json no longer invalidates the whole file. spinnerTipsOverride.excludeDefault did not suppress the time-based spinner tips. And in voice mode, keybindings bound to Caps Lock now show an error, because terminals do not deliver Caps Lock as a key event.
